: Short term Crop Feeding Programs
Our CROPWISE program supplies information on the most suitable crop feeding program for your immediate use, independent of whether or not you are implementing a SOILWISE program.
However, the CROPWISE programs will be much more effective when implemented in soils that are receiving the full SOILWISE program. But we understand that under certain conditions, such as very short term farmland rental agreements, the SOILWISE program may not be applicable – although any farmland rental agreements of >3 years should strongly consider the SOILWISE program.
Our CROPWISE program will give you recommendations on the following:
- total nutrient requirement of the crop based on your yield target
- planting base dressing fertilizers and rates
- rates and timing of topdressing fertilizers
- short term biological programs
- seed dressing
- foliar feeding
Our objectives with this program is to design a well balanced crop feeding program which accounts for your immediate soil fertility problems and the nutrient requirements of your crop.
- recent soil test results (last 3 months)
- recent leaf analysis results (if available)
- feeding program that has been used for past 3 years
- water quality data if irrigated
- medium to long term soil fertility improvement plan for past 3 years
- any lime / gypsum application in past 3 years
- yield averages for past 3 years
- information on most economically important pests, diseases and weeds
With this information available, a farm visit may be necessary for a detailed physical / visual examination of the soils and crops. If the crop has not yet been planted, a CROPWISE feeding program can still be designed with the above information and a farm visit can follow during cropping to fine tune the program through the season.
Using all the necessary information, a report will be compiled detailing our design for an immediate short term crop feeding program for your crops.
