Achieving the correct balance of soil nutrients is the best investment a farmer can make. A well balanced, highly mineralized soil will result in improved soil biological activity meaning less disease and pest pressure and lower requirement for fertilizer inputs – in short, high yielding healthy crops with less inputs. Dead, poorly balanced soils encouarge the build up of root diseases and require much higher inputs of fertilizer and chemicals to achieve target yields.
Soil testing allows us to identify and calculate the requirements necessary to balance your soils. It is a critical step in making your farm more profitable in this age of highly priced farm inputs.
We offer the following options of soil analysis for all types of field crops:

We will process your soil samples within 10 working days using international methods for soil analysis. We will then send you analytical reports which compare your results against target levels. These professionally designed soil reports indicate which parameters or nutrients are low or high, and at the bottom of the reports there will be some basic recommendations. The reports also include a history of the last four analysis results from that field so you can easily monitor changes and trends in your soils without needing to search back through your files. These reports will give you a good amount of information to help you make decisions on your soil fertility and crop fertilizer program.
If you require more detailed information than that found on the analysis report, we offer this through our Advisory Services.
The information and recommendation we supply you is based on an analysis of the sample you supply us. It is therefore essential that the sample you send to our laboratory truly represents the field from where it is taken. Please take time to read the our recommended sampling protocol so we can give you quality information from each soil sample you send us. Read more about How to take a good soil sample.
We provide sample bags free of charge - please email us and we can send you however many you need.
If you don’t have the time to do the sampling, don’t worry, we also offer an on farm sampling service. We will send a qualified field support team member to your farm to carry out the sampling for you (certain conditions apply). Read more about our Free on-farm sampling service.
In order for us to process your soil sample as quickly as possible we request you fill out a sample submission form giving us all the information relating to your samples. This information really helps our sample intake team and ensures accurate information on your analysis report. Click here to download our Soil sample submission form.
